Fibre Optics.

Fibre Optics in Structured Cabling Systems.

Fibre Optic cabling can be used in both horizontal and backbone sections of the cabling infrastructure. Although it is fair and easy to say its primary usage would be as a backbone cable which links together the floors of a building, or as an external link to a remote building, within the area covered by a communications system.

The Fibre Optic solution is favoured as an alternative to standard copper cabling as bandwidth requirements increase and costs of Fibre Optic cable decrease.
This is a mid page animated graphic which shows two moving fibre optic cable ends and the words, fibre optics. Fast, reliable, efficient.

Another great advantage, particularly in Military, financial and medical applications is that it is not affected by electromagnetic radiation and therefore offers a solution to a wide range of communications platforms.
